Vaughn is reportedly developing the sitcom reboot with CBS TV Studios and will serve as executive producer. So far the project has a script order, Deadline.com reports. Vaughn is teaming with "Raising Hope" veteran Mike Mariano on the project which would follow a divorced Bobby Brady, with children of his own, who marries a woman, who also has kids from a previous relationship. However, Bobby and his new bride share a child together and their ex-spouses are still in the equation.
This isn't the first time CBS has attempted to reboot a classic series. CBS was looking at a "Bewitched" reboot in 2011 and in 2010, the network had its eye on a "Wild Wild West" reboot from "Battlestar Galactica" mastermind Ron Moore. CBS has had success in redeveloping shows, like "Hawaii Five-0" going into its third season on CBS.
"The Brady Bunch" originally ran from 1969-1974 and has launched several spin-offs and reunion movies. The series has also enjoyed a long life in syndication.
