Almost out of nowhere comes the National Enquirer's cover story alleging that former child actor Macaulay Culkin is a heroin addict, who spends $6,000 a month on prescription painkillers.
Reps for the 31-year-old actor released a statement to The Huffington Post denying the Enquirer's entire report:
The report in the National Enquirer that Macaulay Culkin is addicted to Heroin and assorted hallucinogenics is not only categorically without merit, but it is also impossibly and ridiculously fictitious. We beseech the responsible media to consider the source and its reputation and to please not perpetuate this destructive and insulting story by pursuing it any further.
The "Home Alone" star has never attracted much tabloid attention, and has fallen out of the spotlight even more since he ended his eight-year relationship with actress Mila Kunis in January 2011. The actor did, however, find himself in the news in February, after he was spotted looking nearly emaciated.
Despite the dramatic weight loss, his reps insisted that Culkin was "in perfectly good health."
