HBO has announced that it is producing a Rolling Stones documentary.
HBO co-presidents of programming Michael Lombardo and Richard Plepler announced at the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour that the network will make the doc about the legendary band in honor of its 50th anniversary.
Brett Morgen of "The Kid Stays In The Picture" is directing the Rolling Stones documentary, which is being made with the full involvement of current and former band members, including Bill Wyman and Mick Taylor.
The documentary will follow the Rolling Stones from their early days through their entire career, but this is not the first time HBO has highlighted Stones -- the network aired a Stones concert special 10 years ago.

"Don't Divorce Me! Kids' Rules For Parents On Divorce" (Sept. 20, 2012) With interviews, drawings, songs and photos, children from five to 10 who've experienced their parents' divorcing share their stories of how it's impacted their lives. Rosie O'Donnell executives produces this documentary.

"Ethel" (Oct. 18, 2012) Emmy winner Rory Kennedy directs this celebration of Ethel Kennedy, the wife of Robert F. Kennedy, with revealing, little-known anecdotes from her family. The documentary features candid interviews with Ethel –- her first extended interview in more than two decades -– and her children Kathleen, Joe, Bobby, Courtney, Kerry, Chris and Max.
"The Big Picture: Rethinking Dyslexia" (Oct. 29, 2012)> This 2012 Sundance Film Festival selection tells the moving story of four young people who strive to overcome dyslexia and includes appearances from such notable dyslexics as Sir Richard Branson, Charles Schwab, Gavin Newsom and David Boies.
"Witness" (Nov. 2012) Featuring a new generation of young combat photographers in conflict zones in Mexico, Brazil, Uganda and Libya, this four-part series from Oscar winner Michael Mann will show audiences why, when everyone else seeks cover, the war photographer stands.
"The Lady of Rangoon" (Dec. 2012) This documentary follows Aung San Suu Kyi, the leader of the opposition movement for democracy in Burma, who was underhouse arrest for 15 of the last 21 years.
