It was perhaps their toughest challenge yet on the season finale of "Barter Kings" (Wed., 10 p.m. ET on A&E). The set-up for the challenge was to get something for vacationing, after all that hard working trading all the time. And it all started with an accordion.
The guys did their thing, transforming the $300 accordion into a set of knives, then a vintage vending machine, a forklift and finally a camper. The $8,000 camper was nice, but it just wasn't quite enough.
Not when there was a $10,000 houseboat just sitting there begging to be swapped for it. The only problem was that the owner of the houseboat had someone coming by later to make a cash deal for it.
But the guys know what they're doing, convincing the owner that the cash buyer was more than likely going to try and negotiate that price down. At least with the camper, he knows he's getting a relatively comparable trade.
The gambit worked, and the houseboat was theirs.
