All the pieces came together on the latest episode of "Haunted Collector" Wed., 9 p.m. ET on Syfy). The team was investigating a home in New York that was nearly 200 years old. The owners reported hearing screams and even seeing a man staring at them upon waking up.
It was definitely spooky stuff, and the team got another scare when their equipment signaled near a wall. Inside the wall, they discovered bones. Upon investigation, the bones turned out to be animal bones, so the search continued.
An EVP recording session turned out to be quite fruitful as they got an answer to a question they posed the potential spirit. "Jerome," a voice was heard to say.
The team found a tombstone for a Jerome at a graveyard right by the house, and were able to determine that the man buried there had lived in the house. He died of tuberculosis. When they found a leeching jar in the attic, they suspected they had their artifact. Leeches had been used in treatment of tuberculosis.
And, as they suspected, once the jar was removed from the home, the owners reported that the activity stopped.
"Haunted Collector" continues Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on Syfy.
