After a lifetime spent grilling, cooking and baking, Mike Bouse wanted to do one thing when he set out to open his newest restaurant: make perfect burgers.
Simple task, right? Along the way, he also aimed to make his menu affordable, but still high-end, to offer vegetarian options that are more than an afterthought, and to reduce his impact on the environment while doing it.
Burger Boss in Elmwood Park, Ill. does all that and more. Bouse's attention to detail has churned out burgers and fries quickly being recognized as among the city's best. (And their milkshakes, which have been flying off mixer this summer, don't sound half bad either.)
