"Desperate Housewives" Alum Gives Terminally Ill Kids 'One Enchanted Weekend' (EXCLUSIVE)

"Desperate Housewives" alum Maiara Walsh wants to give kids the world.

The half-Brazilian actress, who is best known for her role as Ana Solis, Eva Longoria's niece on ABC's "Desperate Housewives," is teaming up with "Give Kids The World"--a 70-acre nonprofit storybook resort in Central Florida--to give kids with life-threatening illnesses (and their families) an Enchanted Weekend.

Maiara and 10 other young celebrities will fly to Orlando from September 14-16 for an interactive, hands-on experience with the children that will include, relays, scavenger hunts, arts & crafts, music, storytelling, and more.

Maiara told The Huffington Post exclusively why this is a charity that's dear to her heart.

"I couldn't be more thrilled about Enchanted Weekend!" Maiara told us in an email. "I've been planning this interactive weekend for a year now, and have faced many challenges to see it come to life. Now that it's here, I am overjoyed!" she wrote.

Maiara and the other celebs involved with the charity are working hard to raise $20,000 for Enchanted Weekend. "My goal is to inspire these incredible children and send them home with new hope and the knowledge that they are loved and appreciated," Maiara wrote. "I trust that the experience will touch the hearts of everyone involved.”
