Justin Williams' Stanley Cup Celebration Features Marriage Proposal

The VIP Guest That Upstaged This Hockey Fan's Proposal

The Stanley Cup, which was recently awarded to the Los Angeles Kings, was present for a different kind of winning moment this week.

In celebration of their win, each player on the team gets to spend one day with the famous trophy. For his day, Kings forward Justin Williams held a "Cup Party" on his boat in New Jersey Thursday, according to NBC Sports' ProHockeyTalk.

Williams' brother-in-law, admittedly after a few drinks, decided the party would be a perfect time to propose to his hockey-fan girlfriend. She said yes, but you'll have to watch the video to see how the newly-engaged pair celebrates with the high-profile guest of honor.

It's not the first time a sports fan has channeled his love of the game into a marriage proposal. Earlier this summer, an rugby fan proposed to his girlfriend by having a stone engraved at his favorite team's home stadium.
