Today, President Barack Obama celebrates his 51st birthday, and over the last 12 months the commander-in-chief has had more than his share of successes related to his job as president.
Although his policy related successes are worthy of note, today Huffington Post BlackVoices decided to focus on some of the president's lighter moments from his 50th year -- moments that remind us that, despite his position as the most powerful man in the world -- he is still a regular guy.

Obama Celebrates 50
With Jennifer Hudson singing happy birthday and performances by OK Go and Herbie Hancock, President Obama kicked off his 50th year in style at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago.
Obama Shouts Out Young Jeezy
"In my first term I sang Al Green, in my second term I'll sing Young Jeezy," Obama quipped at the 2012 White House Correspondent's Dinner.
Sweet Home Chicago
Encoring his Apollo performance, Obama belted a brief rendition of "Sweet Home Chicago" while jamming with Mick Jagger and BB King.
"You're Being Rude"
"Sir, I'm here to speak to these folks. You can hold your own rally. You're being rude. ... I'm trying to talk to these people," Obama said going back at a heckler during a rally at the Ohio State University. This would not be the last time he had to shut down a heckler.
The Dream Heckler
On June 15th 2012, President Obama was heckled while giving a speech that altered the country's policy on the deportation of "DREAMers." While seeing the president interrupted and heckled so mercilessly is never fun, one must appreciate the Jackie Robinson-esque poise and grace with which he handles these situations.

Sitting court side on July 16, President Obama shared a moment with Michelle as the US Senior Men's National Team and Brazil played a pre-Olympic exhibition game. Looked like a fun family night as Malia encouraged her mom and dad to grab a peck when the couple appeared on the Verizon Center's "Kiss Cam."
Obama Slow Jams the News
With the Roots in tow - Obama showed some soul by slow jamming the news with Jimmy Fallon. He did so while encouraging congress to address the issue of decreasing interest rates on Stafford Loans. Only President Obama.
