Hollywood's Most Dramatic Breakups: Stars Who Went Through Messy Splits (PHOTOS)

Breaking up is hard to do -- especially when you are doing it in the public spotlight.

Though there's no official split confirmation when it comes to Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart's troubled relationship, things aren't looking good. Since news broke last month that Stewart had cheated on Pattinson after years of dating, it seems like things are (obviously) not going well between the pair.

Many rumors have been floating around about what's going on with KStew & RPatz, but one thing is for sure: The drama surrounding them isn't going to end anytime soon.

Of course, Pattinson and Stewart wouldn't be the first famous couple to have a messy, headline-making split. Perhaps they can get some pointers on what not to do from those who have been in their shoes -- and on the covers of those celebrity magazines.

It was the cheating scandal that broke America's heart. Raffaello Follieri & Anne Hathaway
Anne Hathaway and her Italian real estate developer beau, Raffaello Follieri, began dating in 2004, but their fairy tale was not a happy one. <a href="http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20207530,00.html" target="_hplink">Hathaway ended the relationship in 2008</a> after legal issues popped up surrounding Follieri's non-profit organization. He was <a href="http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20235355,00.html" target="_hplink">sentenced to four-and-a-half years in jail</a> after pleading guilty to wire fraud, money laundering and conspiracy. He was released and deported back to Italy in May 2012.
Jon Gosselin & Kate Gosselin
The reality TV curse struck the Gosselin family -- hard. Jon and Kate Gosselin put themselves and their eight children on TLC's "Jon & Kate Plus 8," but the pressure got to them. After 10 years of marriage -- and after <a href="http://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/new-details-revealed-jon-gosselin-cheated-on-kates-birthday-2009106" target="_hplink">cheating accusations surrounded Jon</a> -- the couple divorced in 2009.
Tiger Woods & Elin Nordegren

LeAnn Rimes is now happily married to Eddie Cibrian, but it came at a cost. The country singer first married back-up dancer Dean Sheremet in 2002, but had an extramarital affair with Cibrian after meeting him on the set of the Lifetime movie "Northern Lights," in 2008. Kelly Osbourne & Luke Worrall
Talk about a nasty breakup. Kelly Osbourne split from fiance Luke Worrall in 2010 after she found out he cheated on her with transgender model Elle Schneider. "Having to tell them [my parents] my fiance had cheated on me with a tranny who sold his/her story to the press [was the most uncomfortable moment]. It was so humiliating," Osbourne told <em>Glamour UK</em> in 2011.
