This is what happens when you elect people on the basis they have learned a few catchphrases, like "less taxes, less government". All of these Tea Party darlings are being exposed one by one as the one dimensional oddballs they are. The Governors among them were just the easiest to uncover, now the legislators are showing their inexperience, lack of leadership ability, overly simplistic ideas, inability to work with others, and nastiness. They have no intention of doing anything to make government work better, they want government to work better--for them.
