Wisconsin Shooting: Westboro Baptist Church Releases Horrific Tweet After Attack On Sikh Temple

Just minutes after it was reported that people had been shot at a Sikh Temple in Wisconsin, the hate mongers at Westboro Baptist Church were tweeting out: 'God Sent Another Shooter.'

According to a tweet from Fred Phelps, the leader of the so-called church, the shooting was punishment for the bad treatment his group had gotten in Wisconsin.

The Phelps clan recently threatened to picket the memorial vigil for victims of the Aurora shootings and have been restricted by Congress from picketing the funerals of American soldiers.

The shooting at the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin, which is being treated as a case of domestic terrorism, has claimed seven lives, including the shooter and has left many more critically injured.

The WBC is not affiliated with any known Baptist conventions or associations but is part of Phelps-Chartered Co., the Phelps family's law firm. This is a family of lawyers using this “god hates you” thing to make money. It is time for this scam and the hate to end. They are NOT what they say they are! The Westboro Baptist church is a home grown terrorist organization, a group of anarchists, judgmental bigots who are so disgraceful and abhorring! They are not God and never will be, they cannot speak for God, only they can resort to hatred and exist as agents of evil. They are militant, violent and should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. The FBI and President Obama needs to shut these people down. I would not doubt they are behind the shootings in Aurora and Wisconsin. God hates no one, God loves everyone. The central message of Jesus Christ is to love your neighbor as yourselves. WBC has created God in their own image, who hates all the same people they do, and is as violently despicable as they are!. Shame on these horrible terrorists!

Thank you, so very well said - fanned and faved! Your comments were worded so well and accurate. I abhor racism, bigotry, and prejudice in any form, and will not tolerate it. I always taught my children they are never to judge others, and to only form their opinions of others based on that person's words and actions, and not the color of their skin, their sexual orientation, their financial status, religion, etc. I thank God my two young grandchildren are now being taught those same morals and values. And I hate to think of what these people are teaching their children, and the emotional and spiritual damage they are doing to them.

It is people like those of the WBC who give those of us who are real Christians a 'bad name' to the non believers. I also believe their actions have kept many who otherwise would have become believers to turn away from Christianity, thinking we (Christians) are all like that. So they end up thinking they want no part of 'religion' or God. How very, very sad that the actions of a few have been so instrumental in turning so many away from God.

And as you so aptly worded it, "WBC has created God in their own image". I certainly wouldn't want to be in their place on judgement day. They won't be able to bully or talk their way out of that.

Mr Phelps's notion of howe God operates represents the absolute worst kind of theology ever. It's clear from the Christian Scriptures that God does not play favorites: so where does this lunkhead get the notion that he and his follower are somehow "special" to God?

Do real Christians pray for people to die? Westboro does that. I don't believe in "the" God, but, from what I know from going to church when I was a kid, and having a diverse circle of friends, the church doesn't tell you to pray that someone dies. (This is just a comment on your first statement.)

But I tell you: Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that?

If they want to ignore the New Testament and focus on the Old Testament, they're still ignoring that which they disagree with, including:
Exodus 35:2
For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day shall be your holy day, a Sabbath of rest to the LORD. Whoever does any work on it must be put to death.
(how many people have they found working on the Sabbath and killed, as the Bible says to do?)

Sadly, they won't ever do that. It gives them the coverage and attention they want, which brings in advertisers. How sad though, that the advertising dollar is what they care about, rather than doing the right thing and ignoring the racists, white supremacists, hateful church leaders, professional homophobes, and other misanthropes. People like those listed are not true Christians, they just try to hide behind religion.

When God tells us to love our neighbors as ourselves, He certainly doesn't men only those neighbors who are of a certain race, sexual orientation, financial status, etc. Yet people still continue to do that and then call themselves "Christians".
