Days after gossip flared that Drake would be releasing a posthumous Aaliyah album, the first single, titled "Enough Said," was leaked by producer Noah "40" Shebib.

Billed as Aaliyah featuring Drake, "Enough Said" includes never-before-heard vocals from the late singer. The artwork for the album features both the logo of Drake's label, October's Very Own, and Blackground Records, with whom Aaliyah was signed, noted MissInfo.tv.

News of the new single quickly spread on Twitter, where fans expressed bittersweet emotions over the beloved singer, who died tragically in a plane crash in August 2001.

Although "Enough Said" received great reviews, many fans asked: "Why not Timbaland?"

Aaliyah and the rapper/producer were close friends and confidants. They collaborated on numerous tracks, and he produced the majority of Aaliyah's sophomore album, One In A Million.

Drake first hinted at an Aaliyah project during an interview with Tim Westwood while in the United Kingdom at the end of March.

“I have some great Aaliyah news coming soon,” Drake told Westwood, adding, “You know it’s hard for me to ride around to a female singer because at the end of the day, you’re a man, but she always kept it so G with the writing and the melodies. It was something to ride to, especially when it was chopped and screwed. That’s when I used to love.”

Timbaland recently responded to news of an Aaliyah album, telling Power 105.1, "I know they trying to drop some Aaliyah records, but if he do it, it should be with me and Missy. The proper way for him to do that would be for me, him and Missy to be all on the record. But to put it on his record, would just not be right."

Collaborating on a posthumous Aaliyah album would be natural for Timbaland, who revealed that he was in love with late singer on E!'s "True Hollywood Story."

"When I first met Aaliyah—it time for the world to hear this, I'm gonna give a little secret—I was in love with her," he told E!. "I said, But I'm not…She just a baby, I'm old. I said to myself, 'I'm just gonna be her brother.' Oh man, I was fightin', I was fightin' a lot—a big war. But I loved Aaliyah."

There is no official word as to whether or not Timbaland will be part of the album.
