I really think reaching out to those around you via social media is a healthy way advance our sometimes flawed human nature. Anyhoo, I am going through this "problem" with my current girlfriend I hoped to get some input on. I am somewhat of a germaphobe but I got is new Audi S7 so sleek so fast that I like to drive solo. I have never brought anything into the car besides my phone and wallet. I like to drive it to meet her at Ruth Chris when we go out but she wants to ride back with me to my beachfront condo in the car. I really want to be close to her but the passenger side of the car is currently untouched and perfect. I made her take a cab and follow me last week but felt a little bit bad about it. I think I might love her, is there any way to find a solution that is equitable for both of us?

What stupid advice! Marriages take work, a lot of work. Throughout a marriage sometimes things go really well and sometimes they don't. So live with it. You made a commitment to your spouse and when there are children involved you made an even bigger commitment to them. Give up your selfishness and give up the idea that someone else is responsible for your happiness. Be loyal.

Exception, if you or your children are being abused...take the kids and run.

You are responsible for your own happiness. I think if you're leaving a relationship because they don't make you happy, that's an opportunity to take a good look at yourself & maybe see how you're contributing to your own unhappiness.

Sometimes you can be with the right person but it can feel wrong b/c they might be the mirror that exposes some things you need to work on. It's not always the case of course, but it should be considered before giving up so quickly.

Don't build a relationship around sex and mutual physical attraction. Those are important, but when you aren't going at it, conversation is generally meaningless and unfulfilling from my experience. Find someone who can challenge the way you think!

People really like to take the easy way out. If one little think makes you unhappy, just give up and walk away. It doesn't matter if it will scar your kids or anything right? Just do whatever is easier for you and really show your kids that selfishness is the way of things. Pathetic.

All these are fine reasons, as long as they're understood by both parties going in. Guys, in particular, need to know that the unspoken subtext when their female partner says, "I will always love you," is "My happiness is your responsibility, and if you drop the ball, it's over."

Clearly, based on these tweets as well as scholarly research into the topic, that is the reality of romance for at least a large minority of lovers. And it's apparently especially true for women, who are far more likely than men to initiate divorce, separation or other breakup.

When guys buy into this "love conquers all" myth, while their partner is subscribing to one that reads more like "I'll stick around as long as he makes me feel like a queen" it's the equivalent of one person signing one contract and the other person signing another, completely different one.

The typical woman's idea of what commitment means, unfortunately, resembles the typical man's idea of commitment very little. Think about the last time you saw a woman get her man's name tattooed on her body. When it comes down to it, they get a rose on a hip, not their husband's name on their forearm. The ladies like to keep their options open. Guys need to know that.
