Despite Miley Cyrus' affinity for crop tops and hair transformations, the actress has definitely taken the time since her engagement announcement to try to prove that she's all grown up and ready for marriage. Miley struck a particularly adult-like pose in the September issue of Marie Claire.
Covering up her oft-flaunted abs in a demure bejeweled top, the 19-year-old looked quite mature on the cover, posing with some major bling. But what about the ring that everyone really wants to know about? You know, the 3.5-carat gold diamond engagement ring that fiance Liam Hemsworth gave her. Well, it turns out, Miley was looking to mix up her sense of style when she picked it out:
I had no input. We’d been kind of talking about getting engaged…I saw it online at one point and thought it was really pretty…I just love that it’s old and has a story. And I’m happy because it doesn’t look like anything else I wear.
Even though we haven't seen the effects of her vintage ring on her outfits just yet (hot pants and sheer skirts don't exactly make an "adult wardrobe"), we'd love to see a more ladylike Miley, perhaps one with a few less wardrobe malfunctions. And since she's been experimenting with her look recently, we're sure the former Disney star has a few more iterations up her sleeve before she settles into a more mature style.
