The trustees should quit while they are behind. I think Penn State should have lost their football for at least 2 seasons.

Do they WANT the death penalty? NCAA has punished entire programs for a lot less than what happened at Penn State, where you had high level admins and the head coach covering up criminal activity.

You don't win against the NCAA.

given that the BOT hired Freeh in the first place, seems illogical to now junk the impact of the results with the NCAA....is there internal strife on the board?

the longer this drags out, the more it hurts the University. there is no time space machine, they cannot turn the clock back and make it all go away.. time to move forward.

These Penn State trustee lowlifes are beneath contempt. Every one of them should be in jail, and Penn State's doors should be shut forever. That school forfeited its right to operate as a public institution when its leadership allowed children to be raped for years and covered up the crimes rather than ruffle the feathers of the almight moneymaking machine that was the football program. I hope Penn State loses every game and every dollar it has. Any student who doesn't transfer from that school is a fool: who would want a degree from Pedophile U? (And if you're a current Penn State student, you need to know that a diploma from your school may well be a strike against you when it comes to getting a job one day. Just a friendly warning and a little food for thought...)

it's a fruitless exercise anyway, as NCAA 's sanctions are not subject to appeal
so they can 'appeal' until they're blue in the face.

IMO, here is what will happen. The NCAA will deny the appeal. Certain Trustees will file a lawsuit, and may win because there was no Board approval (The By-laws will dictate that result.).

If the NCAA loses, they will reopen the investigation and, after a period of time allowing due process, issue a ruling where Penn State gets the death penalty.

The Trustees who instigated this will do far more harm than good.

so - you are going to 'poke the bear' .....and try to teach the NCAA a lesson...
by claiming that Erickson did not have the authority to sign the agreement....
you folks REALLY should have talked this over beforehand...

my psychic side sees you getting the four year death penalty ....
and THEN we will see how many innocent folks are affected ......

Even assuming the President acted ultra vires, the board can ratify his action. Take your medicine Penn State. Make amends. End this nonsense.
