How many months were you at the time of the shoot?: 7 months
Boy/girl/it's a surprise?: It's a boy! Alandis, Jr.
Mom, how did you tell him you were pregnant?
We took the home pregnancy test together. When I read the results, he thought I was joking. Then he took a look and we both jumped for joy!
Dad, what were your first thoughts when you heard the news?
It is probably THE most exciting news I have ever received.
What are you looking forward to most about being a mom and dad?
We're looking forward to everything about his growth and development. Although it's impossible to anticipate every event, we've spent countless hours reading up on what to expect. We're sure being parents will be full of surprises, but we look forward the journey.
Alandis particularly looks forward to introducing AJ to the wonderful world of Quincy Jones' music and Tennessee Titans' football.
What's your biggest fear about parenting?
Like every parent we want to be able to provide him with everything that he needs. That being said, we live by 2 Timothy 1:7 and believe that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind. Those sound like three traits any parents would love to have!
What's the worst advice you've gotten about being pregnant? Best advice?
Thallen: The worst advice was when anyone shared horror stories about pregnancy, delivery or taking care of an infant. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything!
Alandis: The best advice I got about pregnancy was to give Thallen whatever she wants.
What message do you want these photos to convey to your future son?
We want these photos to convey how much we've loved him from the second we knew he was on the way. AJ, we love you and are happy to welcome you into the Brassel family!
