With Orlando's Dwightmare over and many predicting a championship ending for the Lakers, the mood is playful in Los Angeles. Not surprisingly, nobody seems happier than Dwight Howard, who finally was traded out of Orlando via a four-team deal.
Asked during his introductory press conference if he had spoken to Kobe since the big trade, Howard didn't merely paraphrase the reaction of his new teammate. Stifling a laugh, he delivered an impression of the 14-time All-Star. Judging by the gasps and claps around the room, the L.A. media felt like it was on the money.
"I'm looking forward to it. I'm happy for you, man," Howard said with a smile on his face, his voice lowered to mimic Bryant's tone. "It's all over with."
While in London on business, it's possible that Kobe has not heard Howard's bit just yet. Either way, Kobe would likely be happier if Howard improved his free throw percentage rather than expanded his repertoire of impressions.
