Two years after her divorce from director Sam Mendes, Kate Winslet is picking up some prime New York City real estate -- and she's got her ex to thank.
According to a New York Post report Thursday, the 47-year-old filmaker recently signed over his share of the couple's multi-million dollar Chelsea penthouse to the 36-year-old actress.
Meanwhile, the New York Daily News reports that the four-bedroom, five-bathroom home is already up for rent. The asking price? $30,000 per month.
The former couple scooped up the posh penthouse for $4.9 million in 2004, according to the Post, and intended to use it during their stays in New York (the pair called England their primary home).
After the split, Winslet reportedly lived in the apartment with the couple's 8-year-old son, Joe, and her 11-year-old daughter Mia -- her child with first husband Jim Threapleton.
Mendes and Winslet married in 2003 and announced their split in March 2010, two years after he directed Winslet in "Revolutionary Road."
