We know that practically every week we say this -- but this week's roundup of local adoptable animals might seriously be our favorite bunch yet.

From Labs to Cocker Spaniels, Calicos to Havanas, our latest roster of animals currently in Chicago-area animal shelters includes some real stunners looking for new families and homes.

Scroll down to check out photos of Chicagoland cats, dogs and other pets that are currently up for adoption at a number of area shelters. To our knowledge, they've all been spayed or neutered and are up to date with their vaccinations.

If this slideshow doesn't satisfy your cute animal fix, be sure to check out past features linked below the gallery either by scrolling down or clicking here. Many of the previously featured animals still are in need of forever homes.
