Mike Birbiglia And Ira Glass Respond To Joss Whedon, Reveal 'Sleepwalk With Me' Plans (VIDEO)

WATCH: Mike Birbiglia & Ira Glass Stick It To Joss Whedon

Mike Birbiglia and Ira Glass are turning the promotion of "Sleepwalk with Me," Birbiglia's quasi-autobiographical film, into a very grassroots production -- as in, they're asking supporters of the film to call movie theaters to bring the film to their city. Currently, the movie will be seen on 115 screens across America.

Only one man stands in their way: Joss Whedon, director of "The Avengers" and the man behind cult favorites like "Firefly" and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer."

Whedon can already feel that "Sleepwalk with Me" is going to unthrone the $1.5 billion (with a B) box office that "The Avengers" has already made, so naturally he's throwing his weight around to stop people from seeing it.

However, that won't stop Birbiglia and the "This American Life" host, who co-wrote and co-produced the movie. They figure that if each screen makes enough money (we're talking in the millions), it will easily beat the record set by "The Avengers."

HuffPost Comedy has seen the movie, and we think it's terrific. We also don't doubt for a second that Joss Whedon should be shivering in his boots (that are probably made of diamonds). Watch Mike and Ira's video above.
