Ryan Blames Obama For Small Business Woes -- But Who Is To Blame?

GLEN ALLEN, Va. -- Small businesses may not be thriving in this economy, but just why is up for debate. Republicans blame President Obama, while some say small-business owners are hesitant to hire or do much of anything else until they see who wins the White House in November.
Rep. Paul D. Ryan focused the blame on the Obama administration Friday as he visited a Virginia town that is home to two fellow Republicans, Rep. Eric Cantor and Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell.

"We should not have a government that stands in the way, that erects barriers to small business," Ryan said at a rally at Deep Run High School, just outside of Richmond. "We should have policies that help small businesses grow and create jobs."

I may be accused of being ignorant or simplistic, but as a small business owner of decades I see the problem as one of wealth distribution. I really don't care if the ones on top are making out like bandits, as long as it's not at the expense of the working class.

Given the current "anti union" sentiment expressed by most Republicans, I don't believe that is any longer the case.

The middle class has been contracting ever since the advent of "Trickle down economics".

The Big Boys did most of the "outsourcing" of jobs. Not small businesses.

Without having a secure, reasonably well paid job, the average American is either reluctant or unable to spend. Demand goes down the toilet.

Why is it that the same corporations that say that their employees make "too much money" can afford to pay their managers millions of dollars a year? Plus perks and bonuses. Or worse yet spend millions of dollars to influence our elections and politicians?

Spread that money around, and we'd all be a heck of lot better off.

Including most businesses.

I am a small business owner who would never ever vote for a Republican, most certainly not a supply sider. Supply side economics has killed small businesses all over the country by taking away our customer's income and giving it to the rich who only shop in Paris or Italy.
