July offered up a mixed bag of news for the Chicago real estate market.
While the number of sales of existing homes in the Chicago area rose nearly 30 percent compared to the same period last year, their median sale price was almost 6 percent less than July 2011, the Chicago Tribune reports.
There is a plus side to the market's sagging prices. Last month, Chicago was named by Zillow as home to the nation's best market for homebuyers.
Here at HuffPost, we'll be rounding up some of the hottest new properties listed in Chicago each month. Given the state of the market, you might just be able to snag a good deal on one of these homes -- though for most, they remain purely aspirational for the majority of us city folk.
