Forbes named fourteen media figures to its annual list of 100 most powerful women in the world on Wednesday.

Arianna Huffington, Anna Wintour and Jill Abramson are among those who made the cut. The media figures are a mix of editors, business executives and hosts. The magazine chose them based on three measures: money, media presence and impact.

"In year one as the first woman at the top of the New York Times masthead, Jill Abramson has shuffled senior editorial staff and captained the 161-year-old publication through an ongoing digital transformation," the editors wrote about the editor, who was the highest-ranking media figure on the list at #5. "Now behind a paywall, NYT.com has recruited nearly half a million paid subscribers and attracts 44 million unique visitors worldwide each month."
