Camden John Lachey: Nick Lachey And Vanessa Lachey's Baby Boy

Congratulations are in order for Nick and Vanessa Lachey! The couple welcomed a baby boy on Wednesday, Sept. 12, reports People magazine.

"We are incredibly proud to announce the birth of our beautiful baby boy, Camden John Lachey. Born today at 6:54 p.m., he came into this world at 8 lbs., 9 oz. and 21 inches. Love has truly been redefined for both of us," the couple told People in a statement.

This is the first child for both Nick and Vanessa, who were married in August 2011.

Starting a family has always been the plan for the couple, and Nick announced that they were expecting while he was co-hosting "Live! With Kelly" in March. (Nick was rumored to be in the running to become the daytime show's permanent co-host.)

"Later that night, she started to feel a little different, not quite herself, so she went to the store, got a pregnancy test and it came back positive," Lachey said on the show. "So we're having a baby!"

Since then, it's been all about preparing for the bouncing baby boy -- lack of sleep and everything.

“I can’t even explain how excited I am,” Nick told People in August. “For someone who has wanted a family for such a long time, I’ve looked forward to this moment. Now that it’s almost here, it’s awesome.”

As for Vanessa, she has been itching to meet her son.

“I’m feeling good, mostly anxious," she told Celebrity Baby Scoop. "Once you get down to the last couple of weeks, you are constantly on edge because it could happen at any minute. We have done all our preparation, so now it’s the waiting game.”
