It was a big moment for Shia LaBeouf on "The Tonight Show" (Weeknights, 11:35 p.m. ET on NBC). It's only a shame he didn't bother to groom for it. The "Transformers" star was notably unkempt, with shaggy hair and a scruffy beard when he hugged Jean-Claude Van Damme.
But while Labeouf was clearly excited to be meeting Van Damme, it wasn't immediately clear if Van Damme even knew who he was. Van Damme seemed a little uncomfortable with how excited LaBeouf was to be meeting him.
"Wow. Giddy. Go ahead man," LaBeouf told Van Damme, giving him permission to talk to Jay Leno. "This is a big moment for me, dude. You’re a hero to me, man!"
Earlier in the episode, LaBeouf talked about how he raised chickens, until a coyote ate them. So it was a big night for him, and a strange one.
"The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" airs every weeknight at 11:35 p.m. ET on NBC.
