Is Title IX Killing NCAA Sports?

I joined HuffPost Live hosts Nancy Redd and Alyona Minkovski for a Google hangout with four members of the HuffPost community who held very different opinions about Title IX last night, the always-controversial legislation responsible for the cutting of athletics programs based on the gender of those on the team. The debate centered on claims that the gender equality law is not so equal after all.

Cody Goodwin, a sports writer for The Daily Iowan; Neal McCluskey, associate director of the Center for Educational Freedom at the Cato Institute; Leo Kocher, president of the American Sports Council and Beth Vigliotti, a parent and HuffPost Live community member, shared a heated debate while the hosts worked to find common ground and commenters at home shared thoughts of their own that influenced the debate.

Watch for yourself, and offer your own opinion in comments below. If anyone's interested in taking the debate further, we can put together a HuffPost Change My Mind debate like this one. Just email college[at]huffingtonpost.com to participate.
