September 2012 Fashion Magazines: Match The Editor To Their Quote (QUIZ)

Posted: Updated:

You would, of course, be able to tell Vogue's Anna Wintour from W Magazine's Stefano Tonchi if you spotted the two on the street (or, more likely, in a street style photograph). But, can you correctly identify the editors by their writing?

To put your fashion knowledge to the test, we've rounded up some of our favorite quotes from the editor's letters in the September issues. Take our quiz below and let us know how you do!

Can You Guess Which Editor Said This?

1) “After a summer in high sandals, I am embracing the smoking loafer and the ankle-skimming pant, and holding on to my peplums for another season.” *
Brandon Holley, Lucky
Roberta Myers, Elle
Joanna Coales, Marie Claire
2) "Speaking of provocateurs, I bumped into Jean Paul Gaultier at the cocktail party for the revamped house of Schiaparelli (fashion's original adventuress). Hosted by Farida Khelfa, the brand's new ambassador, at Elsa's Place Vendome salon redone by interior designer Vincent Darre, it was a riot. And that was just the colors." *
Anna Wintour, Vogue
Graydon Carter, Vanity Fair
Glenda Bailey, Harper's Bazaar
3) “Let’s face it, who among us wouldn’t take a pill or potion that would make us better at our jobs? Goodness knows, we abuse substances for just about everything in our personal lives; why not in our professional lives as well?” *
Stefano Tonchi, W
Glenda Bailey, Harper's Bazaar
Graydon Carter, Vanity Fair
4) “Naomi Wolf wants you to feel good. Really good. She wants you to have the kind of earth-shattering, life-affirming, mind-altering, superpower-bestowing orgasms that she has, the kind that lead to ‘female self-knowledge and female consciousness itself.’ A feminist orgasm.” *
Victoria Beckham, Glamour
Roberta Myers, Elle
Joanna Coales, Marie Claire
5) “Once upon a time I would have said I’d be a ballet dancer – I trained as one for years!” *
Victoria Beckham, Glamour
Brandon Holley, Lucky
Roberta Myers, Elle
6) “In recent months, imaginary worlds and fairy tales have been ruling popular culture. Blockbuster movies like 'The Avengers' and ‘The Hunger Games,’ and televisions series such as ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘True Blood’ have transported us into magical universes complete with enchanted forests, wizards and elves, witches and warriors.” *
Anna Wintour, Vogue
Stefano Tonchi, W
Graydon Carter, Vanity Fair
7) "When [our cover model] arrived at our shoot in New York she didn’t say hello. Instead, she shrieked. She took one look at the 50 or so pairs of amazing heels lined up on the floor of the photo studio and literally, seriously shrieked. She squatted down on the floor next to them, cooed, 'Oh my God, these are amazing,' and while we—editors, makeup artist, hair person, photographer, stylist, writer, her assistant—stood there watching, she reached out her arms and ... tried to hug the shoes. The blissful moment past, she shot to her feet, apologized and said hello to everyone." *
Brandon Holley, Lucky
Roberta Myers, Elle
Joanna Coales, Marie Claire
8) “I faced somewhat of a challenge writing my letter this month because this issue commemorates our one-hundred-and-twentieth anniversary. It is, to be honest, a little like writing your own birthday card; I mean, what exactly do you say?” *
Anna Wintour, Vogue
Stefano Tonchi, W
Graydon Carter, Vanity Fair
9) "We now return you to our regularly scheduled programming: Enjoy this epic September issue. And once you've planned your wardrobe updates, check us out again in October." *
Brandon Holley, Lucky
Victoria Beckham, Glamour
Ariel Foxman, InStyle
