America Redneckognizes 'Honey Boo Boo' As Ratings Surge

"Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" ratings are on the rise. According to TLC, Wed., Aug. 22 episode of the series had 2.3 million viewers, the highest for the reality show so far.

The series follows Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson and her family. A spinoff of "Toddlers and Tiaras," the self-described redneck family consists of Alana, June ("Mama"), June's "babydaddy" Sugar Bear, 17-year old Anna ("Chickadee"), 15-year-old Jessica ("Chubbs") and 12-year-old Lauryn ("Pumpkin").

"Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" also tore up the social media charts. According to the network, the series spawned 13 trending topics on Twitter.

In the most recent episode, Alana said goodbye to her pet pig, Glitzy.
