Man of the hour Rupert Sanders was seen visiting his wife, Liberty Ross, on Thursday. The "Snow White and the Huntsman" director, 41, is reportedly desperate to salvage the remains of his marriage to the actress-model, 33, since scandalous photographs of him embracing Kristen Stewart, 22, were published in Us Weekly on July 24.
The cheating scandal spurred comments from both Sanders and Stewart, more dramatically from the latter. The typically private Stewart made an emotional and candid admission and publicly apologized to her then-boyfriend of five years, "Twilight" co-star Robert Pattinson.
"I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry," Stewart said in a statement.
Sanders followed up with a similar statement the same day, saying: "I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family. My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world. I love them with all my heart. I am praying we can get through this together."
Though Sanders can be seen wearing his wedding ring in this photograph, Ross has decidedly taken a different stance about the state of their marriage. Ross was photographed hitting the red carpet solo at the Los Angeles premiere of "Lawless" Tuesday sans wedding ring. Still, Ross is said to be considering a reconciliation and has reportedly attended marriage counseling with Sanders since the affair became public. The couple have two children.
