Carlton Draught Beer Chase: Best Beer Ad Of 2012? (VIDEO)

WATCH: The Best Beer Ad Of The Year?

Running with the idea that nothing can separate a man from his beer, Carlton's Draught "beer chase" ad features a high-octane car chase (sans the cars), in which a band of hapless, beer-loving bank robbers flee from a bumbling group of cops, foaming glasses of beer constantly in hand.

Touted by some as one of the best beer ads of 2012, this commercial by the Australian brewer is a clever parody of the all-too-familiar cliché of the outlandishly indulgent Hollywood car chase.

Featuring action movie clichés galore and a cheesy 1980s anthem to match, the ad -- which is part of Carlton Draught's "Made from beer" campaign -- is the latest in a string of highly acclaimed commercials for the company, according to AdWeek.

“At Carlton, we believe that beer ads should be fun. With the 'Made from beer' campaign we’ve always set out to remind us all not to take ourselves too seriously, and we try to do it in a way that puts a smile on people’s faces. We hope this latest installment continues that tradition,” Andrew Meldrum, GM of marketing for Carlton, said of the new ad.
