In the spirit of Labor Day -- and in the interest of making sure you exert yourself as little as possible over the holiday weekend -- the networks have provided a cornucopia of televisual treats to keep your hand away from the remote. HuffPost TV has gathered the highlights here, just to make life even easier for you.
Check out some of the most tempting movie and TV marathons for the Labor Day weekend below, and let us know what you plan to watch in the comments.
What: "Doctor Who" Best Of Marathon
When: Fri., Aug. 31 from 8 a.m. ET to Sat., Sept. 1 at 10 p.m. ET on BBC America
Polish up your sonic screwdriver and hop into your TARDIS, Whovians: After two "Best Of" specials starting at 8 a.m., BBC America will kick off an epic marathon of Seasons 5 and 6 over two days, culminating with the much-anticipated premiere of Season 7 at 9 p.m. ET on Saturday.
What: "The Hills" Series Marathon
When: Fri., Aug. 31 from 12:48 p.m. ET to Sun., Sept. 2 at 9:00 p.m. ET on MTV
Nothing says mindless holiday entertainment quite like Lauren Conrad, Heidi Montag and the rest of the glamorous, empty-eyed "Hills" posse. To kick off its Retro Mania retrospective of fan-favorite shows from the past, MTV will be running all six seasons from Friday through Sunday. Alums such as Audrina Patridge, Lo Bosworth and Stephanie Pratt will be hosting and providing commentary throughout the weekend.
What: "Star Wars" Original Trilogy Marathon
When: Sat., Sept. 1 from 1:15 p.m. ET to 11:16 p.m. ET on Spike
What better way to celebrate Labor Day than by spending it in a galaxy far, far away? Gather your wookies, ewoks and droids together for "A New Hope," "The Empire Strikes Back" and "Return of the Jedi," back to back.
What: "Longmire" Season 1 Marathon
When: Sun., Sept. 2 from 10 a.m. ET to 5 p.m. ET on A&E
If you missed out on the first season of this solid (and underwatched) crime drama the first time around, now's a good time to catch up. Starring Robert Taylor and Katee Sackhoff, the show focuses on a small-town sheriff who returns to work after the death of his wife, teaming up with his daughter, newly appointed deputy and best friend to keep the town in order.
What: "The Real Housewives of New Jersey"
When: Sun., Sept. 2 from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. ET on Bravo
No matter how dysfunctional your family is, you can guarantee the outspoken ladies of New Jersey are having a much more chaotic holiday weekend, so tune in if you're in need of some horrified laughs.
What: "Law & Order: SVU"
When: Sun., Sept. 2 from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. ET on USA
It may sound like a fairly depressing way to spend your Labor Day weekend, but we know fans can't get enough of Benson and Stabler, so if you can't resist "SVU," this is clearly the marathon for you. (USA will also be giving "NCIS" the marathon treatment on Labor Day from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. ET.)
What: "Push Girls" Season 1 Marathon
When: Sun., Sept. 2 from 1 p.m. ET to 8 p.m. ET on Sundance
Catch up with this inspiring docu-series about four wheelchair-bound women who don't let their disabilities define them.
What: Superhero Movie Marathon
When: Mon., Sept. 3 from 12 a.m. ET to Tues., Sept. 4 at 12 a.m. ET on Encore
For a super-powered Labor Day, there's no better option than Encore, which will be showing "Flash Gordon," "The Shadow," "Spawn," "Dark Man," "Hulk," "The Green Hornet," "Superman," "Superman II," "Superman III," "Superman IV: The Quest for Peace" and "Batman Returns." Phew!
What: "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" Season 3
When: Mon., Sept. 3 from 12 a.m. to Tues., Sept. 4 at 6 a.m. ET on Chiller
Stake out your spot on the couch early for this marathon of one of "Buffy's" best seasons -- with a few random episodes from Season 4 thrown in on either side for good measure.
What: "Gossip Girl" Season 1
When: Mon., Sept. 3 from 9 a.m. ET to Tues., Sept. 4 at 3 a.m. ET on Style
Relive the glory days of the soapy CW drama, back when Blair wore headbands, Dan's hair was even more questionable than it is now and Serena was ... making the exact same mistakes she's still making today. Plus, Taylor Momsen without crazy goth makeup and an aversion to pants! Ah, nostalgia.
What: "M*A*S*H"
When: Mon., Sept. 3 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET on TV Land.
No matter how much you hate your job, allow this classic marathon to remind you that it could be worse -- you could be stuck in a Mobile Army Surgical Hospital in a warzone.
Tell us: What will you be watching this weekend?
