Chazz Palminteri is a man with many passions, among them acting, directing, writing, and Italian restaurant hunting. Two of those skills are getting a spotlight on Broadway next year when the Palminteri-scripted-and acted play "Human" joins the 2013-14 season.
The news, which was announced today, is circulating along with a plot description that pretty much covers every genre that exists: "A chance encounter on a Central Park bench thrusts two diametrically opposed men into the fight for their lives in Human, a darkly comic play that proves that crime, whether on Wall Street or the mean streets, ain’t no walk in the park." Phew!
The production reunites Palminteri with Tony winning director Jerry Zaks, who helmed the 2007 Broadway run of Palminteri's hit solo redux of "A Bronx Tale." Readings start Friday, with Palminteri (who plays one of the main men, a "Wall Street banker"), Mira Sorvino, Evan Jonigkeit, Sophie Monk and Jeremy Shamos.
