Joe Biden DNC Video Casts Vice President As Middle Class Hero

Posted: Updated:

An introductory video before Vice President Joe Biden's speech at the Democratic National Convention sought to cast him firmly as a success story of America's middle class and a fighter for it in tough economic times.

"Middle class wasn't a number, it wasn't a net worth, it was your values set," Biden said in the biographical video.

He said "the longest walk a parent can make is up to a child's bedroom" to tell their child that they can't pay for little league or a chorus because the parent lost their job.

"My dad made that walk. Think how many people have made that walk. They're not looking for a handout, they're looking for a shot," he said.

"We're in a fight for the middle class, and there's no one I'd rather have in that fight than Joe Biden," said President Barack Obama in the video.
