I guess this is supposed to be humorous and I don't want to sound like a stick in the mud but considering all the lies my ex told me while we were married and after, I didn't really find this article all that funny. It's actually quite sad and a bit disgusting how lying seems to be a common thing. I guess it goes along with divorce being the first option in a troubled marriage instead of trying to work it out.

Sorry to be a downer (really, I am) but this article kind of hit me in the gut.

Wow! You are SO right! My ex and his brother have five divorces between them. My ex cheated on both me and has first wife.....ending both marriages. He doesn't even know where truth ends and lies begin anymore.

I never lied to my husband. It's totally unnecessary, and not respectful. I can use good judgment, be diplomatic, and explain my position. He lied about anything and everything, though, and admitted to the thrill of duping others. I sat and watched him lie to his attorney, my attorney, and the court reporter, proud of himself. But then he told the truth about some if it, proud of himself, telling more than needed to avoid perjury charges, bragging about his sins. I thought, "OMG, I've won the case. I don't have to hire a PI." I got everything.

Lies......
1. It's no big deal you forgot.
2. Nothings wrong.
3. It's ok, I will just do it.

To me, the biggest lies are what we don't say. That is where we get into trouble in marriages, when there is more we can't or don't say than what we do say.

I never liked refering to my wife as an "Ex". Rather, she was an exciting girl with wonderful qualities that I fell in love with. That being said I did want her to realize that I had a life without her. And, that my mind was sharp and I had traits that would attract another smart, funny, beautiful and worthwhile young woman. Even though this was all true she always knew that she had number one status in my life. When all was said and done......That was okay with me. Pride will never trump beautiful, Irish green eyes when they are backed with so solid a female. I have never fallen out of love.

Seems to me that you are both very blessed to have found one another and to be so lucky 'in love' with eachother!
