Elton John and partner David Furnish have bid farewell to their ode-to-the-70s apartment in the West Hollywood Sierra Towers. It's actually a pair of adjacent units, held in Furnish's name, that came on the market this past March -- about the same time it was reported that the song-meister and his civil partner had purchased a mansion in Beverly Hills.

The MLS now reports the Sierra Tower home as "sale pending," which means a buyer is on the hook. We generally don't like to count our escrow chickens before they hatch, but the Martyn Lawrence-Bullard designed chrome and glass palace tickles our fancy too much to ignore it a moment longer. Plus we have it on good authority that the sale is a done deal - and that the MLS is just a little slow to keep pace with the jet-setting rock icon.

The smaller one-bedroom unit has about 1,151 square feet of living space. The larger one adds another 1,831 square feet to the package.

The property was featured in all its 'Boogie Nights'-esque glory in Architectural Digest in 2009. Stay tuned for sales price, which the buzz says is around $4.6 million.
