While Lea Michele's character has graduated from McKinley High School on "Glee," she will continue to be a big part of the show. Now, there are a lot of comparisons to past shows that could be made about her situation with "Glee," but Jimmy Kimmel went with Screech on "Jimmy Kimmel Live."
"In a way, you’re like, kind of have the same role that Screech had in ‘Saved by the Bell: The New Class,'" he said. "Yeah, in that you’ve stuck around. You’re still around."
"You’re comparing me ... " Michele stammered, dumbfounded. "I’m Screech?”
Kimmel backpedaled as best he could, insisting that she was better than Screech. One difference, though, is that Rachel Berry isn't staying in Lima and hanging out at her old school. She's in New York, and she's not the only cast member hanging around either. In fact, almost everyone will still be there in one capacity or another.
In other words, it remains to be seen which character -- if any -- would best be compared to Screech in the long run.
Check out the new season of "Glee," kicking off this Thursday at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
