Prince William, Kate Middleton Singapore Trip: Royal Couple Stay At Famous Raffles Hotel Singapore (PHOTOS)

Prince William and his wife, the Duchess of Cambridge, arrived in Singapore Tuesday in high style to embark on an eight-day Jubilee tour. (The duo was in town to mark 40 years since Queen Elizabeth II first visited, according to CBS News.) While there, they are staying at the famous Raffles Hotel Singapore, which will celebrate its 125th anniversary September 16.

Named for Sir Stamford Raffles, who founded the city of Singapore, the Colonial-style has hosted notables and dignitaries since its institution. Around the turn of the century, Raffles Singapore's Long Bar became the birthplace of the "Singapore Sling," a concoction created by bartender Mr. Ngiam Tong Boon (check out the original recipe below, plus a how-to video in the slideshow.)

Singapore Sling:

30 ml Gin
15 ml Heering Cherry Brandy
120 ml pineapple juice
15 ml lime juice
7.5 ml Cointreau
7.5 ml Dom Benedictine
10 ml Grenadine
A Dash of Angostura Bitters
Garnish with a slice of pineapple and cherry
