Dogs Wear Boots, Can't Help But Dance (VIDEO)

These boots are clearly not made for walking.

In this absurdly silly video, watch what happens when dogs are fitted with booties for their paws.

With lots of slip-sliding and awkward hopping and desperate jiggling, the video plays like a doggy-dance gone awry.

Dogs and cats hate things on their feet. People who buy boots for these animals need their heads examined. I trained dogs for competition. I caught the kids dressing up the dogs once. The second time I told them once more and they would be wearing silly outfits for a week. it stopped......

It can protect their pads in extreme weather conditions when they go for a walk. Perhaps also if they have something wrong with one of their feet. Other than that, I can't imagine there is a purpose

You are correct. If a dog walks a lot in the snow, the snow compacts between their pads. Long enough and it becomes ice. The ice cuts their pads. Hence, boots. Better for them to not like them, than have cuts on their feet.

Some dogs have sensitive feet and crack and bleed if walked outside, you know where concrete and other hard surfaces are. It's not any crueler than slapping roller skates on a kid, and has actual medical need in some cases.

For others it's just trying to be nice to fido. Once they figure it out they're fine. And usually forget the laugh track.

Salt and chat on the roads and sidewalks make booties for dogs a necessity. The dogs here in Montreal soon accept them as normal winter wear.

They all have the same reaction which makes it unnatural, uncomfortable, confusing to the animals and definitely unfunny. Let the animals be animals, they survive perfectly the way they are and making a circus out of them is animal abuse. This is something ''PETA'' should make noise about

Get a clue. Some people live in cold environments and their dog's feet need protection from not just snow and ice but all of the nasty chemicals. Dogs get used to booties and they all look "unnatural" at the beginning of training to wear them.

Exactly. I am considering traction booties for my ageing GSD to help him get up and around on our tile without sliding and wonking out his hips. He loves the tile because it's cool, so putting down rugs is not an option. Want to prolong his quality of life and just make getting around easier. I am so abusive.

Many dogs need these boots due to paralysis/paresis of their limbs.....the boots help protect the foot so abrasions/wounds don't occur. PETA is too busy prancing around nude, throwing paint on faux fur jackets and killing dogs and throwing them on the roadside to have time for this topic.

We live where we have very harsh winters and hot summers. For some dogs these booties protect their pads from being severly injured. They are for protection, not fashion statements. We have large dogsled races here, many of the sleddogs are wearing boots. Is this abuse? No. It's being a responsible dog owner.

Carol --- Ignore them. They are probably the ones that have their dogs tied up in the backyard, where they totally ignore them, and their cats run the neighborhood.

That is so funny. Some feel bad about it and think it is cruel, but thats more about our feelings than about the dogs. They have to learn to walk with extra weight and another feeling so it takes some time to learn to walk the right way again.

Haha, yea I was thinking of a few cases I have had myself, heavy and stiff slalom shoes comes to mind.
