I love the couple with the groom who is wiping a tear. That seems so real, it was the only picture in there that was truly touching in its illustration of keeping with an old fashioned tradition of seeing the bride in her gown for the first time at the alter. That is rare these days. I'm not a fan of pre-ceremony photos dictated by the photographer's schedule, the ridiculous and seemingly endless mixtures of people the couple wants have captured in individual photographs, and/or the bride's desire to have perfect hair and makeup for pictures.

Bahahaha...isn't that how it really is nowadays? My sister gets married next March, and she and her fiance just bought a house together -- and moved in. I think it's great that they're getting on with their lives and all, but how is that going to make the wedding or the days after it special? I mean, getting married in general is special...but once they return from the honeymoon, everything is just going to go straight back to the way it was before. Just a typical day in the life...You think they'd want some element of surprise of change, but I guess not.

Bought a house, moved in and living together before marriage, why bother with the wedding? When she walks down the ailse in white (veil?), it's like receiving a regifting.

My wife and I lived together for years before we got married, bought a house before we got married and certainly weren't celebate before we got married. A wedding is an excuse to have a great big effin party with the main theme being your love for each other.

Your argument about things returning to the way there were before the wedding day when they return from their honey moon doesn't hold water because that's the way it's going to be in the end. What's so new after 50 years of marriage? The bind the glues is the love. "New" really is only a hormone surge that doesn't last.

I'm extremely progressive with many of my ideas and requested that my wife stay with me the night before our wedding (much to her parent's dismay). After years of living together, I couldn't imagine not holding her the night before the most important day of my life. I wanted and needed my best friend more than ever.

And the next morning, she got up earlier than me, gave me a kiss and left to get ready with the girls.

Today this day, I couldn't be more thankful that she was willing to forego that tradition. And I'm positive that her staying with me didn't take away from the joy I felt as she walked down the isle.
