After making viewers worry for much of the episode that maybe Goldie wasn't pregnant, the inevitable became the factual by the end of the second installment of "The New Normal." While Goldie couldn't seem to decide if she wanted to live on her own -- even if it meant struggling for her and her daughter -- or in the guest house Bryan and David offered her, at least one plot point was resolved.
"We are officially pregnant," David told the assembled "family" after he got the news. It was great news for David, Bryan, Goldie and Goldie's daughter Shania. Yet to find out are Goldie's grandmother Jane, and Goldie's estranged husband Clay.
EW was happy to see the pregnancy confirmed so early in the series run, as it makes it more likely the baby will be born by the end of the season. It also establishes a fairly obvious arc -- at least for Goldie -- in this first season. Unfortunately for Jane, though, it's a little too late to talk her out of it, so she'll just have to deal.
"The New Normal" continues on Tuesdays at 9:30 p.m. ET on NBC.
