The "Ghost Hunters" headed to North Carolina to help a young child who was experiencing spiritual manifestations in her room. According to her mother, Amber, three-year-old Sophie had reported seeing and even being touched by a ghost in her room.
"I would literally see her on the baby monitor start coming off of her bed. Not just roll off, but literally come off," Amber said. "She would be screaming and she would say things like, 'Mamma, he’s got me!'"
She told the investigators that the dresser in Sophie's room once belonged to her dead stepfather, and found her confirmation later that the spirit must be his. The team determined that a recording made during the night in the little girl's room was a voice saying, "I don't mean to scare Sophie."
Amber recognized the voice as her stepfather's and felt tremendous relief that the spirit meant no harm. Now just how to explain to a three-year old that all the terrifying experiences she's been having weren't mean to scare her.
Keep up with the investigations on "Ghost Hunters," Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on Syfy.
