Barack Obama Leads In Swing State Polls Of Virginia, Ohio And Florida

The Huffington Post   First Posted: 09/13/2012 7:19 pm Updated: 09/17/2012 11:45 am

President Barack Obama holds a 5-point lead over Mitt Romney among likely voters in Florida and Virginia, and a 7-point lead in Ohio, according to polling released Thursday evening from NBC, the Wall Street Journal and Marist.

In Florida and Virginia, 49 percent of likely voters supported Obama, and 44 percent Romney. In Ohio, 50 percent supported Obama, and 43 percent backed Romney. Obama won all three states over Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) in 2008, but Florida especially would be a crucial win for Romney.

Obama has a 49 percent approval rating in Florida and Virginia, and 50 percent approval in Ohio, among likely voters.

“You’d rather be in Obama’s shoes than Romney’s in these three critical states,” Marist's Lee Miringoff told NBC, cautioning that the president's lead is not "insurmountable."

Most likely voters said they had made up their minds, with only 2 percent in each state saying their choice might change come Election Day.

Further down the ballot, Sen. Bill Nelson (D-Fla.) was ahead of challenger Rep. Connie Mack (R-Fla.) 51 percent to 37 percent, and Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) led state treasurer Josh Mandel 49 percent to 42 percent. Tim Kaine, a former Democratic Virginia governor and DNC chair, and George Allen, a former GOP governor and senator, were tied at 46 percent.

The polls were conducted by telephone between Sept. 9 and Sept. 11, with a 3.1 percent margin of error. The Virginia poll surveyed 996 likely voters, the Ohio poll 979 likely voters and the Florida poll 980 likely voters.

"Marist's Lee Miringoff told NBC, cautioning that the president's lead is not "insurmountable." Yes, if the Republicans pull off the cheating, chad-bending, voter suppressing nonsense they've planned in the past OR if every Democrat ran head first into a brick  Read More...

Where have all the GOPers gone on this story? The ones who claimed to be "organized" at skewing the numbers. Liars and cheaters never win. :D

Why are you showing polls from a month ago? Romney's now ahead in Florida.

This article demonstrates Pres. Obama's most important and crucial advantage over Romney. Pres. Obama is cool, calm, collected, and unflappable. He has only one purpose in mind...to service the United States of America, which includes everybody..not just the rich people...and he remains calm and stays his course...attributes that are crucial to a man who holds the position that he holds. Romney, on the other hand, is all over the place. If Romney thought he would gain political points by doing unspeakable acts on a dog's privates...he would probably do it.

Don't you just hate it that we are organized? Something the left just can't seem to do. Please reference OWS, Chick-Fil-A, Rush, etc. etc. The left can't focus long enough to organize their socks. Only a few thousand people are polled each week and we have well over a thousand of them that we know about skewing those polls. And obama still can't pull ahead even with all of us pretending we are voting for him. P.S. I write for a newspaper, not FaceBook or Twitter. And I've been polled 3 times in a month. See you in November. Have fun."

HP trying to con you into believing that your G*d Obama is in the lead. What they don't tell you is that these polls were taken before his failed policies in the middle east were exposed.

If Obama failed in the middle east, Romney imploded..lol

Trruth is..if there was nothing to report on the turmoil in the Romney camp, there'd be nothing to report.

Don't get upset with HP or any other outlet that prints the story, direct your anger and angst at the Romney campaign's failure to have a cohesive strategy.

MSM set him up with questioning before the interview. Don't go telling me it's normal procedure for so called journalist to huddle up and figure out how they're going to take him down like a group of wolves! You want truth? You can't handle the truth!!
