Obama Camp Ad: Romney Never Stood Up To China, He Sent Them Jobs

President Barack Obama's campaign is out with a new television advertisement, airing in key swing states, that pushes back strongly on Mitt Romney's spot while accusing him of sending jobs to China and profiting off of the earnings.

The ad, titled "The Cheaters," will be airing in Colorado, Florida, Iowa, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Nevada, Ohio, Virginia, and Wisconsin, the campaign said. And it is a direct response to one released Thursday by the Republican challenger's campaign.

"Romney's companies were called pioneers in shipping U.S. manufacturing jobs overseas," the script goes. "Romney's never stood up to China. All he's done is send them our jobs."

Both campaigns have seemingly concluded that the other needs to be tarred for turning a deaf ear to issues of outsourcing. But, whereas, Romney is just now making the charge, Obama and his allies have been whacking him for months on this line.

UPDATE: The Romney campaign's Amanda Henneberg sends over the following response to Obama's new ad:

This is a false ad that has been debunked time and again by independent fact checkers. President Obama has failed to stand up to China and is now using false attacks to cover up his failed economic record. President Obama promised to take China ‘to the mat,’ but instead he has allowed China to treat the United States like a doormat. Mitt Romney will stand up for America’s workers by protecting our intellectual property rights, making sure China plays by the rules, and ensuring more jobs are created here in America.
