Apple. It's got it all. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Smaller screens, unswappable batteries, incompatible proprietary connectors, $29 adopters that probably cost them a nickel to make.

If there's nothing wrong with your old phone there's no good reason to get a 5.

And if there IS something wrong with your old phone there's still no good reason to get a 5.

Well if your old phone was an iCrap and you're used to it and you don't wanna learn anything new you stick with something you know, like if you're 90 years old or you like smaller screens, incompatible connectors, higher prices, non-swappable batteries or you're close-minded or something else is wrong with you.

Can not deny the fact that Americans are way down the on list of educated nations.
Tech toys have created the fantasy of wisdom by silicon.

Well at least we're not rioting in the streets over sky-gods and killing foreign ambassadors. I'll take our education system over that part of the world.

1)  Definitive proof that being an Applebot is an illness

2)  Someone from the states need to go to these lines and make sure that none of these people are presently on unemployment, because they're clearly not looking for work.  My guess is you'd get at least 80% of the people in line off my dime.

My guess is that you don't personally pay enough taxes to support ANYBODY else. It probably seems like more to you because money is your major preoccupation.

Oh, but I'm that dastardly 1% people like you keep railing about.  You know, the ones you like to claim aren't paying our "fair share" whilst your share is 0.

Highly doubtful. I've walked by those lines at Apple stores in years past, they're mostly filled with dockers wearin' polo shirt sales guys and techies. And last time I checked, there were no Apple stores in the 'hood.

What type of person camps 8 days for a product that is not as good as what came out in May of this year.

The SIII had 4G LTE, 1.4 GHz quad core processor, replaceable battery with 790 hour standby time and 11 hour talk time, and 64 GB removable storage on microSD

The iPhone 5 is just now getting 4G LTE, 1 GHZ dual core processor, non-replaceable battery with only 225 hours of stand-by time and 8 hours of talk time, and no removable storage.

Apple hasn't even caught up to the previous competition, let alone what is coming out this fall. They are going to wait 8 days to get something that isn't even better than what is already out there. At Thanksgiving they are going to be jealous of all their friends who bought a next generation phone rather than an outdated phone like the iPhone 5.

"In the popular imagination -- and in Samsung TV ads -- the people willing to wait in line for days to buy the newest Apple (AAPL) gewgaw are hopeless fanboys and fangirls who need to get a life.

That attitude is so 2007."

Now, why don't you go home and get your shine box?

They're all pretty smart, and using this to promote their own businesses/music/blogs.
The weather is nice for it this time of year, at least.

The loss of productivity camping out for 8 days negates the benefit of having an i5 a few days before anyone else. That doesn't seem very smart.
