'25 Biggest Live TV Blunders': Did Kanye West, Kathie Lee Gifford Or Tom Cruise Come Out On Top? (VIDEO)

Who Topped TV Guide's '25 Biggest Live TV Blunders'?

It was an exploration of the uncomfortable when TV Guide Network counted down the "25 Biggest Live TV Blunders." Live television is a wild and unpredictable place, which means it's tailor-made for gaffes and awkward moments. But certainly none were more awkward than the moment that placed at the top of the list.

The moment came in above Sacha Baron Cohen as "The Dictator," and even above the moment Kanye West said during Hurricane Katrina that George W. Bush didn't care about black people. Unlike those moments, though, this one was a complete and total accident -- or a lack of preparation, maybe.

It happened on "Today," when Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb were interviewing Martin Short. Gifford started talking about his long marriage, asking him how he and his wife managed to stay so in love after all these years. Short was clearly a little confused by the questions, but he rolled with it.

"You’re still, like, in love," she asked, to which Short replied, "Madly in love. Madly in love."

Martin Short's wife had passed away in 2010 from ovarian cancer. Gifford eventually apologized, and Short said he wasn't upset. "On live television, people make mistakes. There’s no ill will intended," he told E! News.

TV Replay scours the vast television landscape to find the most interesting, amusing, and, on a good day, amazing moments, and delivers them right to your browser.
