"Dating is a zero-sum dating. If you get a man, I don't get that man," Parks Department employee Donna Meagle once told Ann Perkins, Pawnee nurse and best friend of Leslie Knope, on "Parks and Recreation." This was, of course, a scripted line in the NBC show, but the actress who plays Donna, Retta, is no less hilarious and opinionated. Retta has more than 57,000 followers on her personal Twitter account, from which she often live-tweets her favorite TV shows. So Vulture's report that the Mercedes-driving character Donna will get a Twitter account and tweet about a terrible movie that she loves made perfect sense. "“The writers are gonna let me do some of my own lines. People who know me will think it’s hilarious," Retta said.

Donna is just the latest TV character to join Twitter. Her co-worker Leslie Knope is already there with a bio that reads "Lover of waffles, work and people. I plan to be the first female President of the United States of America." Plus, other shows have female characters on Twitter: Liz Lemon from "30 Rock," Julia Houston from "Smash," the Dowager Countess from "Downton Abbey."
