Most people commenting on this article seem to not have read it. I don't know the authors opinion on OWS (and some of what transpired I disagree), but what he talks about this specifically individual is spot on.

For Christ sake the man calls himself the Naomi Klein of the 21st century. Any one familiar with her work, will find the notion of this child, who compares schools to prisons and teachers to prison guards, to be even in the same league as Klein offensive. Unless they are Chicago economic school boys who no doubt will find the insult to Naomi funny.

This type of people do not help the OWS movement.

Criticism to this arrogant j**k are not criticism to the OWS!

Well said -- and my comments coming from someone who indeed read the (overly long) article. But, I think there is a deeper message here, as follows:

This is a tried-and-true technique of the status quo, and the inside-the-beltway, 3-letter agencies that serve them.

What to make of the Mark Ames story? Just a convenient vehicle to spread this poison further -- leach it over into the broader groundwater -- with "street credibility" from HuffPost, no less... Clever, those handlers!

HuffPost, you're far too naive to see this. A word of truth: You've been played, as the saying goes.

Good point. It might not be true but one tends to forget the long history of those three letter agencies discrediting any movement that goes against the status quo. One interesting thing would be to see who, if anybody payed to see this guy.

Another interesting thing in the article is that he author said something like: "both left and right are attacking teachers, who knows why".

Anybody even vaguely familiar with the american system knows full well that schools are one of the few still public systems that has the potential of becoming a full billion dollar market. Just like prisons were decades ago.

All these attacks against teachers come with the objective of privatizing and creating a for profit market, and the author knows it full well, the hack

We all need to earn money to live, whatever he charges and earns is a drop in the ocean compared to the tax free earnings of the wealthiest families on the planet who presently are enjoying triple the wealth they had before the financial crisis, all our governments are flooding the banking families with cash, yours and mine, and thats what "occupy" is about. People throughout the west are propping up these institutions while finding it ever harder to put a meal on the table, this is criminal action and both government and big business is in collusion on this and I for one could care less if someone charges $50 or $5000 as a lecture fee, those with the ability to pay are the ones whose kids can afford the education, the rest of us are expected to have debt for life for this "pleasure" then still be dumped on the scrapheap.

I don't think that is the definition of capitalism. All he is doing is offering his services to those that want them at a price that he thinks they are worth. How is that different from someone offering to work for £10 an hour?

The capitalist will employ the $5,000 an hour man and charge others $20,000 for his services. Just because the reward seems high to one person does not mean that others can not exploit it for their own gain.

You have more laws than any other country on Earth together with the highest prison population. Your USA is $16 trillion in debt, and the rich don't want to pay. I have a soft spot for anarchists. The author clearly doesn't.

Anarchists are cute, idealistic, mostly harmless people with some silly rhetoric and not entirely serious ideas. They're adorably inconsequential. But the author quotes Mao and bizarrely refers to the Soviet general who occupied Afghanistan as a "war hero."

I'll take the anarchists over Communist apologists any day.
