Ricky Gervais dropped by "Conan," and almost immediately had to come face-to-face with his own little-known past. Gervais got his start in entertainment not in comedy or acting. He was the lead singer for a group called Seona Dancing.
As soon as Conan O'Brien started pushing the conversation in this direction, Gervais figured him out. "You’ve definitely got a picture or a clip, haven’t you?" he asked.
O'Brien did indeed, showing a picture of a very young Gervais in full 1980s glam rock regalia. He then proceeded to tease Gervais about his look, but that wasn't going to work either.
"You think I’m embarrassed of how I used to look?" Gervais returned. "No, that makes me feel bad about how I look now … This is the embarrassing bit," he added, gesturing to himself now.
While "Conan" didn't play a clip of the song, it seems to important a piece of Gervais' past to not let his fans at least see him out in action. Check out the video for Seona Dancing's "Bitter Heart."
Tune in to "Conan" every weeknight at 11 p.m. ET on TBS.
