Katie Sunshine, Hula Hooper, Performs In Yoga Pants (VIDEO)

Hula Hooper Has Incredible Skills

Katie Sunshine, a talented hula hooper from Arkansas, has had somewhat of a breakout year: She's been featured in popular hula hooping Web site Hooping.org; she's dedicated a video to fans of the Philadelphia Eagles, and she's performed atop the dugout with the Philly Phanatic.

But if anything will help sustain Sunshine's popularity heading into autumn, it's this video.

With a hoop on her hip, Sunshine sways to the Southern rock slow jam "Wagon Wheel" in a pair of skin-tight yoga pants.

An elementary school art teacher by profession, Sunshine claims she didn't know she was being filmed when the video was shot, according to the video's description. Nevertheless, Sunshine posted the footage to her YouTube channel.

Whether or not you think hula hooping is a sport, it's clear Sunshine is a master of her craft.

While some may dismiss hula hooping as a fad from the '50s, the activity has experienced a rebirth in recent years, with derivations such as fire hooping gaining prominence among performers.

Earlier in September, Thailand held its first hula-hooping competition, as part of a government initiative to promote physical fitness.

Hoops -- albeit not strictly hula hooping -- were a component of rhythmic gymnastic competition at the 2012 Summer Olympics.
